CarbonX high-performance textiles provide reliable protection in extreme heat and hazardous working environments. These materials are non-flammable and will not burn, ignite, or melt when they come into contact with direct flame or heat.
CarbonX products are lightweight and flexible, with a cotton-like feel. Moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties help prevent heat stress and fatigue during daily work. These fabrics are ideal for a full protective apparel solution.
CarbonX Protective Fabrics by Tex Tech Industries
CarbonX fabrics by Tex Tech include:
CarbonX Ultimate™
CarbonX Ultimate provides the highest degree of thermal protection in extreme commercial and industrial conditions. This material maintains its structural integrity during exposure to heat and direct flame. It resists the effects of various molten substances and reduces heat transfer much more effectively than other flame-resistant fabrics of similar weight.
CarbonX Ultimate is suitable for use in various settings, including cooler climates and winter conditions. This double-jersey interlock knit is flexible, breathable, and moisture-wicking to keep the wearer comfortable during periods of intense activity.
CarbonX Active™
CarbonX Active offers a combination of thermal protection and wearability for workers in high-heat environments or other hazardous conditions. With an NFPA 70E Hazard Risk Category 2 rating, this non-flammable material offers improved protection compared to competitor garments of similar weight.
CarbonX Active has a hydrophilic fiber structure that wicks moisture away from the wearer’s skin for optimal comfort. It comes in a double-jersey interlock knit that is flexible and breathable.
CarbonX Repel™
CarbonX Repel is designed to defend against numerous thermal hazards in one single garment. This fabric has a unique, proprietary fiber structure that protects the wearer from the following:
- Direct flame
- Extreme heat
- Molten metal splash
- Flammable liquids
- Sparks and chemical splatter
- Other molten substances
CarbonX Repel is lightweight compared to similar protective fabrics and passes the ASTM F955 pour test for molten iron and aluminum. It also features an encapsulated silicone barrier to protect wearers from wind, water, and other elements. Tex Tech offers a choice of encapsulated fabric options, including plain weave and twill weave fabrics.
CarbonX Aluminized Solutions
Tex Tech’s CarbonX aluminized textiles offer improved mobility and range of motion while delivering optimal temperature resistance and protection from thermal hazards like radiant heat and molten metal splash. The high-performance base fabric provides a persistent barrier and maintains its flexibility even after it is aluminized.
CarbonX aluminized fabrics are among the lightest materials on the market able to pass the ASTM F955 pour test for aluminum, copper, and iron. Aluminized options include a fleeced knit, twill weave, and woven broken cable twill.
CarbonX Arc™
Tex Tech’s CarbonX Arc is engineered for NFPA 70E compliance and protection against arc flash hazards.. CarbonX Arc also satisfies ASTM F1506 requirements while maintaining a comfortable, flexible fit. CarbonX Arc is offered in two lightweight, moisture-wicking interlock knit fabric options.
CarbonX Wovens
CarbonX woven fabrics from Tex Tech offer high durability and abrasion resistance. These woven materials effectively resist molten metals, flammable liquids, and certain chemicals. They are an optimal solution for use as the outer layer of a multi-layer PPE clothing system.
CarbonX woven fabric options include woven broken cable twill, plain weave, various twill weaves, and ripstop weaves.
CarbonX Specialty Fabrics
CarbonX nonwoven fabrics by Tex Tech add extra layers of protection from a range of thermal hazards. These specialty textiles can be used in various equipment and garment constructions to give wearers peace of mind when working in dangerous conditions.
